Scott Sullivan | Founder & President
Scott founded Sullivan Tutoring in 1996 on the premise that effective test preparation depends upon personalized strategies, encouragement, and genuine care for the student. Since then, he has successfully built Sullivan Tutoring into the premier tutoring and test preparation center in the Greater Boston Area. Throughout this time, Scott has helped thousands of students improve their testing confidence for the SAT and other standardized tests.
In 1996, he developed the Sullivan SAT Learning System, emphasizing a customized learning approach and containing all crucial test content and strategy. In 2009, Scott crystallized the SAT Learning System by creating and co-writing SullivanCards with English Director Kathryn Azevedo. Scott is also Math Director for Sullivan Tutoring, teaching various levels of classroom mathematics to students of all ages. He also enjoys acting, playwrighting, and playing basketball. Scott and his wife Michelle are blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Emma and Cassi.
Kathryn Marquis Azevedo | Director of English
With a background in English and editing, Kathryn brings experience to Sullivan Tutoring. Since 2006, Kathryn has worked with students to increase their reading comprehension skills, grammar knowledge and writing proficiency for the SAT and other standardized tests. Kathryn also helps students navigate the complex process of writing the college application essay, and assists younger students with basic classroom English. Kathryn designed and co-wrote the SullivanCards™ with Scott Sullivan. She and her husband Ed welcomed their daughter, Noemia, into their family in April 2011.
